sheesh Wyatt. The subtext of my reply is that using this quote from "As good as it gets" in some kind of discussion with me says more about you than me. Receptionist: How do you write women so well? Melvin Udall: I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability. We are way past the old "women aren't smart enough to balance a checkbook" byline of the 1960s aren't we? Is that the kind of comment you use seriously towards the women in your life? In the movie it was intended as black humor. Using this as some kind of rebuttal to someone you don't agree with on an investing message board is kind of lame.
