Look up statistics of the most popular selling vehicles, if they were building crap no one wanted as you say, they surely wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list of quantities produced.
It isn't management deciding to build cars no one buys as you continue to state, the solution isn't to sell more cars, they already are at the top of the heap in sales.
No, it remains the mountain of debt the unions have created that are bankrupting the American automakers.
