we have different views on israel. No need to go into them now.

Yes, we do have different views on Israel......that's part of the problem and should not be ignored. Had I thought of the term.....senator from Israel at the time......I would have used it with Tom Delay. My point is, right or wrong, America's extraordinary bias for Israel is hurting our position in the ME and prompts us to take positions that usually antagonize what relations we do have with Arabs. Joe Leiberman is at the forefront of that policy as was Delay. Had it been any other country what Israel did to Lebanon would have been condemned by the US. Instead, we applauded and condoned the action. You have no idea how angry that made me and how much I disagreed with that position. There was absolutely nothing gained by bombing the hell out of Lebanon, killing over a thousand people, and damaging its infrastructure. Nothing.

Its the senator from israel thing that irks me. Drop that and we can fight about mideast policy at another time. Or dont drop it but use it for other senators who support israel in the same way as joe. Dont care which.

Fair enough......I won't use the term.
