Mish, a friend of ours is based in Shanghai. As an anecdotal data point, he told us last week that "half" the factories in the area are either closed, closing, or basically idle. There's a real sense of doom in the air.

As a counterpoint to this, China is an amazingly resilient and hard-driving place. They may bounce back very strongly. But the immediate horizon is dark indeed.
