I suspect you mean that if drugs were legal the higher profit would go out of it, and the criminals would get out of that business. They would still be criminals, but wouldn't have the cash available to pay bribes.

I think that is true. But I also realize that legalizing drugs in this country is decades, if not more, away from every happening. Right now, it's a Libertarian pipe dream.
