Z, > Just that there are other ways to change it than that, and that declaring bankruptcy to break the union isn't the answer.

You have actually point out the real reason why otherwise corporate-hating Democrats would want to bailout the Big Three, and it all has to do with saving unions.

I don't know if Chapter 11 will break the unions or not. It likely will, but if the unions are indeed part of the problem, then they will have to be broken.

I suspect you are afraid to admit it because of what that means for millions of families who depend on the existence of the Big Three. "Too big to fail."

> The Republicans in Washington has actively ENCOURAGED Detroit to build the wrong cars for the last couple of decades.

That's a convenient lie pushed forth by partisan Democrats.

How much of an incentive did Detroit really get for "building the wrong cars"? How much did it skew demand? How much did it affect the R&D of "the right cars"? Remember that the foreign car makers also met the demand for "the wrong cars" without having to sacrifice anything else.

I suspect you are paying attention to slogans without asking whether it even passes the smell test. Cause you know, it's a lot easier to believe that the "vast right-wing conspiracy" plotted to get Americans hooked on oil ...
