That is actually a fairly well done piece. Clearly, the Indian security forces needs work, they were and continue to show little awareness of a simple cordon, which is specifically done to limit potential losses of innocent and emotional population.
Most likely, this affair is designed to divert pressure.
US, allied, & Pak forces have ongoing operations against the camps in the Pak tribal areas....the side benefits of shifting attention to a new A O, increase the business opportunity of counter terrorism as well.
Common wisdom is that India has arrived, until something like this demonstrates, how far they are from actual tactical parity. (blowing up the wrong pirate mother ship didnt help either)
Pakistan should send Muscharaf(sp?) to India. Muscharaf has developed complex identity, which is a needed characteristic within a complex situation as this.
For the longest time, the ISI has played all sides against the middle..... they are the main "man" within Pakistan, nothing that happens; isnt happening without thier knowledge.
Every external party in its relation with Pakistan....should understand that the ISI is the central brain behind all pak affairs......not unlike the kgb is/was within ru.
ISI remains all things to all people, no posturing of output, sophisticated or not, can change this.
All alliances are simultaneous, and that is a very difficult reality for disparate self interested systems to come to grips with. |
