RCN is experimenting rates and sales penetration on internet speeds in triple play package price points. Starting at $16.95 for 1.5 mbps internet connection. This reduces triple play from $99/mo to $77/mo.

It helps to reduce bandwidth on the street, where you live. Comcast will not have to restrict download volume.

The only thing that slow down triple play subscriber drive is the limited time contracts. One year price guarantee is just not enough to do budgeting, long term. It also hurts MSOs, losing long term subscribers because of competition.

With Pots(plain old telephone system) at $52.50/mo nation wide service, triple play is attractive if price is guaranteed permanently. Perhaps scaled at $60, $80 and $100/mo of different levels of service or media content available? Or adjustable service rates depending on customer usage? So, customer can adjust what they can afford each month?
