High wattage around the head is a repressed concern of many users of cellular phones. A San Jose company called "Symmetricom" (SYMM) has key patents on what they call the "Power Helix Antenna", and it is being tested in European digital cellular systems. Basically the cell phone antenna is within the unit itself, and does not protrude. Instead of radiating the microwaves into the users head, the radiation is dispersed away from the body. If you are interested, you can find information by checking the press releases at the Symmetricom home page. I'll be standing in line to buy one of these phones as I don't like microwaving my brain.
