Unless Tesla has developed some unique technology that will benefit the entire electric vehicle industry, loaning them $400 million strikes me as an inappropriate allocation of the federal loan package. While I don’t have enough technical expertise to comment on efficacy of their technology, my gut tells me that their insistence on developing an all-electric vehicle at this point might be a bit too aggressive. Some might call it an affectation. Let’s perfect the hybrid first.

I’m glad that I found this thread. It will provide a good start on my education.
