Silly. You can't just change the meaning of the plain and simple word 'pardon' to mean whatever you want it to.

A 'pardon' (in law...) is the exemption of a convicted person from the penalties of an offense or crime by the power of the executor of the laws.

It's even a bit of a stretch (in the eyes of some) to call what jl supports (the preemptive pardoning of people before they are even charged with any offense) a 'pardon', at least in the traditional sense of the word.
