So you expect your broker to never eat, never go on vacation, never be sick, never have to attend meetings (even if it would benefit you), etc.

If you had something other than a discounter, the broker would watch your investments for you, freeing up your time to do what you claim to do best. I don't have the kind of clientele that needs to jump with every uptick and downtick in the market. Besides, I have a registered assistant who has been in the business longer than I have and is certainly capable of rendering whatever assistance my clients require. It's the way I've structured my business, so I have the time to eat lunch.

As for your impressions, and others on this thread, as to what brokers do, I would respectfully submit you have seen "Wall Street" too many times.
