It looks like they are going to come out with at least two different battery packs for the S sedan. Along with that they told me that there would be different replacement versions of the existing battery pack for the Roadster in the near future. They are also looking at a couple different types of batteries and are beginning to evaluate them now. The other thing they are going to push and apparently have contracts for is to sell different versions of their powertrains to other car manufacturers. That will be very interesting to watch.

They are committed to a "pure" electric vehicle. Hybrids are very expensive to develop compared to a pure electric vehicle. Obviously there is a penalty with range but these vehicles are going to "early adapters" and not for the masses. We have to start somewhere!

The more scale, the lower their per unit costs drop.
