What do you think of Bob Gates retention? To me it says to the left that they should get over not having had bush lose in Iraq. And to the right it says that responsible foreign policy doesnt have its origins in ideology. If there is one field that calls for pragmatism its FP, and obama gets that from the big three appointees. I am surprised you approve if indeed you do.

To me it says why re invent the wheel with a new guy when we are winding down in Iraq. Gates has shown himself to be openminded and less ideological than the other neos. So why not take a chance.
