It's actually not that much of an over simplification. I recently read an article that this is exactly what is happening in the GOP. The far right faction wants to regroup around anti-abortion, anti-gay rights, and aggressive unilateral war-mongering. The center-right faction wants to co-opt the moderate views of the Dems such as getting out of Iraq (Hagel/Gates/Powell) and focus on fiscal conservatism and good economic management. I hope the center-right faction wins, because that will hasten the day when we have a viable GOP. Then maybe the GOP will attract good leaders again and I can vote GOP again.

We need a viable GOP for a health country, but a far-right GOP has no chance to make it back to power. Sorry to disappoint you folks on this thread. It's just that this country has changed and wised up a bit.
