CAH - should be resilient in a bad economy. I do not see much reason for the new regime to mess with pharma and hospital distributors either. I own enough already at higher prices.

MOS: Not sure about the fertilizer business. Fertilizer seemed to be a crummy business for ages and then they enjoyed a brief stay in the sun. Will it come back? I have no idea. i think i would go with Dale's play of SYT as a higher tech bet on farming.

GTI: Steel is suffering and steel suppliers are suffering as well but GTI's balance sheet looks good. This one ought to come back.

TYN: I don't like leveraged funds in this environment. As they bump against the mandatory leverage limit they need to liquidate at fire sale prices. I think it's better to buy MLP units straight. KMR and EEQ are alternatives for IRA's - they avoid the tax hassle.

Not that all these funnimentals matter much in this market. No buys for me today, despite a large cash position i have been building up by selling into this rally. I'll see to it tomorrow perhaps. I am seriously thinking about giving up on stockpicking altogether for a while and just riding the volatility buying and selling ETF's (SPY and others). Can't bring myself to go to the dark side (short indexfunds) since those are lethal as well if you are wrong.
