Were someone, tomorrow, to cancel all union contracts at GM, GM could fire ALL its union employees, and GM could go on national TV and say, "We've got jobs for unskilled laborers paying $15-20/hour with basic benefits", they would be FLOODED with applicants and would OVERNIGHT be able to cut costs sufficiently to permit them to survive with some short-term bridge financing.

They would need to suspend operations in some plants, perhaps can some of the product line, etc., but if you get rid of the union contracts, the problem can easily be solved.


I don't even know where to start to address the absurdity of this post. I will just scratch my head for a while.
