brian,

>>>Who are you going to listen to, MM's who consistently underperform every major average or those who have made real money in the markets? Personally, I like to try and follow those who have been successful in actually making money Read: NOT MM's! I have 70% of my holdings in AMAT(not counting some I have bought on margin) and still manage to sleep at night. I have made some costly mistakes over the past several years(i.e.FORE) but still have managed to get a 68% annual return over the previous four years. BTW, Ultratech is about 10% of my portfolio and I have no regrets as my cost basis is $19.59. Diversify at your own risk. >>>

you definitely made your point........and since the thread has referenced buffett i am compelled to offer another quote.....i have been lucky enough to study him for the last 13 yrs.......80% i have learned about investing has been from his old annual reports and letters to shareholders.........the other 20% from philip a. fisher.......and it works for all kinds of markets......

"a lot of great fortunes in the world have been made by owning a single wonderful business. if you understand the business, you dont need to own very many of them" warren buffett speech to ny society of security analyst 12/6/96
