Re "Immigration": It will be interesting to see if Obama does anything different than GWB on the ILLEGAL immigration.... ALL GWB had to say is "Enforce the borders, make sure NO ONE comes in that isn't documented." After that is done, increase the quotas for educated people who can immediately contribute to our society. Period. People forget to ask how many of the world's people were let into this country as Refugees each year....every single one of them were admitted by Executive Order, can apply for all the welfare programs we offer, and are here by the grace of the American people. Bush said that one of his biggest disappointments was the failure to pass a comprehensive bill on immigration reform. "I firmly believe that the immigration debate really didn't show the true nature of America as a welcoming society," he said. "I fully understand we need to enforce law and enforce borders. But the debate took on a tone that undermined the true greatness of America, which is that we welcome people who want to work hard and support their families."
