Kurt, nice link you gave About wireless networks. They are a means to enlarge the VNC market. Read on people.
techweb.com:80/wire/news/1997/10/1021nec.html
"NEC ..." ".... developed infrared wireless network technology aimed at the home and small-office and home-office markets that can transmit multimedia data -- including video - at high speeds..." "The technology" ... ... "is expected to reach the marketplace late next year. It uses the IEEE1394 high-speed serial bus, an emerging standard for data transmission in electronics consumer and PC products. The bus standard has also been dubbed "Fire Wire.""..
.. "use ordinary infrared transmission diodes".. .. "to transfer data at 125 megabits per second.".. .. "between two transceivers up to 10 meters apart.".. .. "for distances longer than 10 meters, NEC has developed Fire Wire-based wall sockets that can be physically wired using relatively inexpensive plastic fiber optic cable.".. .. "Fire Wire can transmit data from between 100 Mbps and 400 Mbps. Although there are many emerging bus standards, Fire Wall is now appearing in digital camcorders, digital satellite receivers, and digital video recorders".. .. "NEC will launch PCs incorporating the standardsoon,"...

Speculations: What would the following (speculative) scenarios do to Corel's stock value and credibility?

1. What if DEC decided to port the Corel products to the Alpha?
2. What if Corel and Nortel decided developing software together?
3. What if GM would buy 100 000 VNC's for their employees?
Based on the number of 400 VNC's a day (I read somewhere Eid Eid said that is their initial production capacity) Corel would need a year to deliver this.

I got the word that: "the VNC has been manufactured for Corel for over two years already as their in-house video computer which has been online for 1300 desktops for over a year and bygolly it is clear video. The COREL Video portion of the VNC is unbelievable, as clear as a video camera plugged into your TV; thanks in part to the extra wires in the Twisted-Pair LAN cabling throughout most corporate networks worldwide). Eid Eid (NC) and PatBierne (SCSI,Video) are the masterminds behind the VNC."
