The scary thing John is that the next ten years are going to be really hard on the big auto makers. Pure electric cars are not going to happen overnight for the masses because battery costs at least in the short run will not fall fast enough. We are at the mercy of carbon based fuel prices. Will we have another fuel price shock? We all know the answer to that one. Having lived through the first shock in 1973 while in college and about 4 more, the last one was not that bad. The next one unfortunately will be much worse. The world economic meltdown will give us a brief reprieve. Batten down the hatches...
