Re: "but nobody wants to mess with those warlords.................even us."

Suggestions?

(Withdraw? Attack terrorist camps across the border? Condition any further American taxpayer money that we send to Pakistan to their getting wholeheartedly on the "no more pet terrorists" bandwagon? Something else?)

How about this:

I understand that Pakistan created and historically (still does to a large degree) supported the Taliban for two big reasons.

1) To prevent either Iran (the 'Shia enemy') or India (the 'Hindu enemy') from gaining power on Pakistan's Western border.

2) To keep the Pastuns (largest ethnic group in Pakistan and also largest in Afghanistan) from ever uniting themselves --- which could threaten civil war in Pakistan, because the other ethnic groups would not want to be over-powered by the Pastun.

And that they created and train and supplied and supported L.e.T. (and some other terrorists groups) to use as their own proxy armies in their long war with India over Kashmir and Jamu.

So, how about this: if they will not respond to suggestions/policies listed above... threaten to 'play the Pastun card' and not oppose 'Pastunistan'.

Bet THAT would grab their attention....
