I don't think we can know where these stocks will ultimately bottom. Who knows maybe we have already seen the the lows but part of me doubts it. Based on valuation levels of the past 10 years most stocks are ridiculously cheap. Based on longer term valuations they are not that cheap.

So do stocks go to recent historical lows on valuations before the market bottoms or do they have to hit the lowest lows of the last 100 years?

I really don't know. I still think we could get a great rally in here some place. That rally probably will fail setting us up for lower lows next year as it generally takes some time for the market to reach the kind of low volume bottom I have been writing about.

Or not...
