No your not. The three car companies are bigger (even just one of them is), but not by any stretch of the imagination does the difference resemble that between a gas station and the pentagon.

And the point isn't about the scale, but the principle. Do something foolish on a bigger scale and it just makes it worse.

Eastman Kodak employed 60k; from what I understand the auto industry and its vendors employes well over a million people

GM (the biggest of the three) employs 266,000. That's less than four and a half times more. And the many of GM's employees don't work in the US.
