Thanks for posting that on the Mumbai attacks.

Three comments -

1) A lot of the off shoring and call centers are in Bangalore, and some around Delhi and other cities, they are far away from Mumbai.

2) Daily life in much of India is a struggle, yet the people survive and build. If the incredible chaos after partition did not kill India, why should this ?

The multi nationals won't leave until it gets like Beirut or Northern Ireland, there would need to be an attack every month. IRA attacks on London, about 4-6 per year, really did not stop investment in that city.

Those are exaggerations by the author, possibly intentional.

3) Getting to the key point, that this looks like Beslan - that looks Russian, as the attempt to use large amounts of explosive to blow up the hotels.

Any conflict with Pakistan creates problems for the US in Afghanistan and other places.

This is the sort of event that would have produced an over reaction from John McCain.

If the US is busy preventing a war between India and Pakistan, Russia gets less attention in Europe.
