You seem to want to turn the argument to university, where I referred to output of all schools, and highlighted 2 where the US lacks the most: middle schools and high schools.

Of course you do......you want to keep this conversation on the factory floor. I want to take it to mgmt who rules and has the final word. Your ideology does not allow you to go there......I have none so I can look at both sides.

That in turn makes a student of your average collage learn high school level material in college.

I don't know whom you're talking about....maybe low level high school students but those of us who were average or above average in hi school had no trouble with college level courses.

But again, why is this important?

Now, you have a fraction some colleges / universities that are very selective, and generally admit only high school students who have mastered their high school material, or, there is an option in more ordinary colleges to jump over you high school stuff and take more advanced courses, this is more of an exception rather than a rule.

What is the point you are trying to make?
