Ted, Loans can be made to all kinds of creditworthy people and companies. The world doesn't have to play by your rules. When you are nearly certain that the loan will not be repaid, it is not a loan, it is a gift. Loan to automakers without securing their ability to repay (breaking their union contracts) are gifts.
