There's always the possibility of tsunami, like the one we got when the Alaska earthquake happened. No warning.

Reminds me of the Alaska Ferry going through the Wrangle Narrows to Petersburg. It's going pretty slow, but you don't want to be standing too close to the shore when she goes by. The bow wave will take you out.

From the ship, you see the water falling off the beach in front of the bow wave, and then rising up onto the beach, and falling off again.
