That's news to me, although the article was over a year old. Sounds like grounds for some sort of red-lining lawsuit for tacit racial discrimination. That's different than simply building in Indiana instead of Ohio.

Past union membership is not a race. When I found that article, I found more info. Apparently, Honda found a location outside of a normal driving distance from counties with high union membership, and justified the restriction by the commuting distance.

I am not surprised when a company, such as Honda is going to make a multi-billion dollar investment, it does not want this investment be instantly de-valued by UAW, or virtually rendered worthless.
