Mona Charen is glossing over the ethical clouds hanging over many of Obama's appointees. She is correct in that they are not as leftwing as his carefully groomed reputation prior to the general campaign.

The fact that leftwinger Brooks* is impressed says much about them not being as centrist as some people seem to perceive them to be.

The appointment of Summers and the lack of outcry from the left says much about how partisan the left has become.

* Brooks is called conservative because as a moderately leftwing nut he looks conservative compared to the rest of the NYTimes.
