We had calculus in High School in Denmark and Sweden in the late 1950s. Differentiation and integration, which we also applied to the problems in physics. All of that in high school and as a prerequisite to enter engineering school at college level.

Exactly, thanks for confirmation.

I wouldn't be surprised if US high schools were teaching the same in 1950s, before they moved to more important problems, such as forced racial integration, or the latest, building self esteem in children who have no reason to have any self esteem based on the abilities they are possess.
