Sen Shelby has worked to incentivize foreign car makers to come to Alabama with more than $600M in tax cuts and now lobbies to deny detroit any help... We know why a Senator would try to get a new auto plant in his home state. That's easy enough to explain. Can you explain WHY any Senator, other than perhaps one from Michigan, ought to be trying to "give Detroit help"? Why should Detroit businesses not be responsible for their own futures? Why are you suddenly favoring, apparently, "corporate welfare"?
