The story of the Francis is funny. My dad was a real wheeler dealer. He traded an apartment complex he built in Lake City for a house (pretty run down) on Lake Washington and the Yachet Francis. Francis was originally owned by Clara Bow, and was in pretty good shape. Full of beautiful oriental cabinetry, and furniture.

We'd tool around the lake or in the Puget Sound but really had to be careful of bad weather and high seas because the Francis was built like a bathtub and wasn't very stable.

I was 15-16 at the time, and oh........was this ever fun.

I have nothing but fond memories of that boat, and actually found some pictures of the boat and the actual outing through Deception Pass. The boat was loaded with people, and it was so fun to sit there and identify them all. Found the pics in a little lock box Dad kept.
