Yes, these numbers are stunning because they are ACCELERATING in the face of $8.5 trillion (pick a number) promised to the financial system which is now sitting on our money taking our interest payments for it.

This is what happened in Japan with the bankers taking cheap money from the central system and then using it to buy government securities...it's ridiculous. Paulson and Bernanke should both resign and let people who might have a clue come in sooner rather than later.

I'm not convinced Geithner/Summers (Rubin should keep an extremely low profile or go on permanent vacation) will be much better but Paulson is so bad that he has to go.
