VK, One big difference between INTC & MSFT. INTC's earnings and margins are dropping, MSFT's are still growing. Intel's growth is slowing to 20%, that's why it is trading at roughly 20X earnings. MSFT's growth is still in the 50% stratosphere. Lehman upped it's eps from 3.15 to 3.20, so real price without the upgrade should be 50x3.15 or around $157! There is a close correlation between growth and PE. Check this in the Fortune issue of Sept 22, pp86. fortune.com.
