Actually, I think he should have put troops into Afghanistan.

The CIA was there begging for "boots on the ground" to block Al Qeada and the Taliban from escaping into Pakistan, but the Administration apparently wanted to rely on the Northern Alliance guys and not put any more of our troops in harm's way than necessary.

We could have cut them off right there and kept them from regrouping.

We could have probably then chased any of them that got into Pakistan with American troops since we had a LOT of World understanding after 9/11 and we could have probably gotten away with the "hot pursuit" argument.

As it was, Bush and Cheney were SO interested in using 9/11 as an excuse to attack Iraq that EVERYTHING went wrong.
