I agree. The problem with the Republicans is that their solution to every problem is to either give tax rebate checks or to cut taxes. Those are blunt instruments and are giveaways besides. If any of that money gets spent, it goes to buy goods made in China.

A much better way to stimulate the economy is to give tax breaks to spur INVESTMENT in things that will either bring in new revenue in the future or cut costs in our economy. Investing in our economy through rebates on alternative energy purchases accomplishes both: 1) it creates an incentive to cut our energy costs through renewables that substitute for oil and other energy imports and 2) it creates jobs right here in America.

It is an investment in our economy, versus the bailouts or giveaways, which the Republicans prefer.
