Fortunately where I live here in the Seattle area about 98% of our electricity comes from renewables. I'm working on installing a PV array on my house and when the Roadster shows up late next year it will be recharged totally "off grid" but will have the backup capability of charging from the grid too. This stuff is fun to work with.
