Z, > You can't stop paying pensions and health care for retirees. You end up with hundreds of thousands of destitute elderly people who have given their lives to the Big Three. That's not OK. What's your solution then? Get the current workers to be that much more productive and management to be that much more effective to make up for the generous benefits of people past? Even with a bailout, there's no guarantee that the Big Three can sustain their bigger costs in the face of competition. That's the real problem that needs a permanent solution, not government-funded band-aids to the tune of $37B. Tenchusatsu
