I won't use anything that restricts the flow, as this one would.

I don't know how much it ristricts flow. The point of it is to filter chlorine, since chlorine is supposedly more dangerous in gas form, breathing it in, which is what happens in shower.

You will read a downside about R/O units that they produce bacteria-filled water because the unit removes the clorine. It's all spin.

The tank is only 4 gallons, and the unit is supposedly able to filter ~1 gallon /hr. So the water is not sitting there for long time, waiting for the bacteria to take residence.
