I was thinking about this whole battery issue and it struck me that lithium ion laptop batteries have now been around for quite some time and have to be a fairly high volume industry. It also seems (and this is my anecdotal take) that prices certainly have not come down much, if at all over the past few years. I recall paying around 150 bucks for a new battery some time ago, and many are in that range today. Mature technology without much hope of further advancement? Or perhaps they were much more expensive when they first appeared and had a short and steep price drop curve???

Regards,
John
