I really don't get what your hang up is. Even Bush's White House accepts the NBER as the official arbiter of this stuff: foxbusiness.com White House spokesman Tony Fratto said in response to the announcement, “As we’ve always said, NBER determines the start and end dates of business cycles, and they’ve done that... Why can't you accept what is so obviously true, even to the White House? The only one acting like a pinhead partisan hack here is you with your ridiculous denials... Of course we had a recession in 2001. Nobody disputes that, not Republicans, not Democrats, just you... SD
