There is a great documentary on peak oil, but I cannot remember the name. The thesis of the video is that people really do not understand just how steep the downside of Hubberts peak is, and just how devastating the rapid decline will be in slwoing commerce and the depression that will ensue-----if we do not prepare adequately now. Personally, I am for the US sort of taking over the car companies and retooling them quickly and then run tem back ot private companies. Electric cars and NG trucks need to be implemented with great haste. This is a national security issue in every sense of the word, from paying too much for imported oil which is breaking us, to global warming, and $200 to $300 oil in case of war, etc.
