If you can ever come up with a standardized testing methodology for measuring "arrogance" on a scale

You just raised the age old question of trying to quantifying a practice that is supposed to be scientific... but still, there are many very common gestures that run across all societies, humans do have instinctive manners of reacting to both external stimulation as well as internal thought... of all human communication, only 7% is conveyed by our words... the rest is conveyed by our hand and facial expressions... the best example I can offer is the great debate between JFK and Nixon... those who only heard the voices on the radio thought Nixon won... those who saw the television broadcast thought JFK won... that was because JFK's facial gestures projected confidence... this means it almost doesn't matter what you say, as long as you say it with confidence and self assurance... most all politicians discover this phenomenon very early in their careers, that's why they all speak the same way no matter what BS comes out of their mouths... JFK also had makeup to make him look more normal and less stressed under the bright studio lights, this was also another nonverbal cue which rendered self confidence...

THEN you might be able to begin convincing folks that your, er... individual perceptions don't say more about yourself than they do about your targets

Projection is always a pitfall in these things, but a good student learns to be careful of this... again, there are very many individual gestures that are very common across all people, that would at least reduce the risk of personal projection into those kinds of nonverbal expressions...
