Hi Paul - Any idea why SVU would "declassify their board of directors"? From my research companies believes that this provides for "better" corporate governance but it appears that many companies that do this either (1) restructure & spin off subsidiaries, (2) easier to merge or sell the company or (3) are forced to do this by major shareholders (ie Calpers).

On 11/20/08 you posted the article "Supervalu shares dive to 17-year low" and now this announcement.

There does not appear to be any unusual insider activity. In fact many of the officers are major stockholders and at higher levels.
