A quick scan of the SI professionals shows that they are all chortling with a combination of anticipation that Obama will be caught in this Blago business and cynicism that he will be called on it.

It's the same pattern as the election campaign; ignore who Obama actually is and what he does, and make up all kinds of inferred wild associations and actions that will inevitably lead to Obama's doom.

Then the inferred stuff turns out to be vapor, and the associations are tangential, nothing sticks because there was nothing there to stick, and Obama solidifies his position with swing voters (as we see in the preceding post on his approval polls) while the winger base continues to chase red herrings.

Do you think they will figure it out eventually and focus on something relevant? I doubt it. Further out into the wilderness they go.
