Dale,

For his own good, Obama does need to clarify the nature of whatever contact may or may not have occurred between his staff and Blagojevich as it relates to the open Senate seat. Blagoejevich's anger would seem to imply that he (or his Chief of Staff) had a conversation with someone in the Obama camp. I suspect that Blagoejevich made a demand and it was rebuffed. I would not be surprised if the the contents of the conversation were passed on to Fitzgerald.

Obama would be smart to put this issued to bed. I would hope that he addresses the issue at his press conference this morning.

I think that we have not heard the last of Candidate #5 (Jesse Jackson Jr.). I watched Jackson's press conference yesterday and his denials, which I take at face value, were specific and limited. It would not surprise me if someone close to him approached Blagojevich with a proposal. The approach could have been made without Jackson's knowledge.

Regards,

Glenn
