ignore who Obama actually is and what he does Those are the last things I ignore. Don't know about you. Let's see. Obama was 'present' in the Illinois senate for a number of years, without accomplishing anything. He's been a 'Constitutional law professor' for some 10 years, without ever publishing, and only teaching boutique courses. He gave a cool speech at the 2004 convention. He won a Senate seat, but started running for President before he actually did anything. He visited Iraq and Germany. He promised to accept public financing for his campaign, but changed his mind when he realized he could make more money by accepting funds without adequate controls in place to assure accountability. He supported ACORN until it was a problem. Wright was a mentor until he was inconvenient. Ayers was a colleague until he became a 'guy in the neighborhood.' Rezco was a good source of business and money until he forced Obama to do 'bone-headed' things. He had a meeting with Blagojevich, until it looked like that could be a problem. And on and on and on........ To bottom line it: Obama is a creature of Illinois politics and the Chicago machine. It's just that simple. It's really all you need to know about him. I said at the outset of the campaign that I would never vote for a Chicago pol on general principles, and I stand by that. Obama will never be able to completely scrape the Chicago muck off his shoes. No wonder Blagojevich figured Obama knew the score of 'pay to play.' He figured that was how Mrs. Obama got her positions, and I doubt the Guv was much off on that. Since the Obama supporters deliberately failed to ensure he was vetted before the election, they hardly have a basis to complain when unsavory things come out now that we're stuck with him. That's what happens when you nominate a blank slate and actively oppose any efforts to fill in the blanks. Let's just hope Obama and his crowd don't completely waste the country. Unfortunately, we're all in it together now.
