Hi David.. Been tied up trying to get RT Satelite feed going and jumping into positions. We are about to take off for the weekend:

Food for thought for the weekend:

Where did you first hear about Christianity? From a man or God
If it is from a man-- then I would think you have a man-man-God relationship. If you heard it from God, I guess my first question would be what is he/she/it like?

It seems to me that rather than get a religion from a book or hearsay, it would be better to use reasoning-- given by whatever created us-- rather than belief-- something someone else told us to find a relationship ( if a person wanted one ) with creation.

It appears to me that your emporer has no clothes. A lot of people are believing it-- but then a lot of people believed Hitler and in Zeus as well as Mohammed and Confusious now. It appears that things men believe in have to be pumped up to maintain their belief in them. ( I guess this is why religious people go to church, temples, mosques, etc.) Yet, feeling that you are a part of the natural world doesn't need constant pumping up, it's just knowledge.

Another thing that disturbs me is the artificialness of your religion. People that profess to be Christians turn out to be phonies, and this seems to be the accepted norm. "Oh, they weren't REAL Christians, they just pretended to be." (The dissapearing Yankee syndrome) I even wonder about Shalom Hepziba. (Please don't take offense Shalom-- none intended, just stating my feelings.) Here is a person using an alias, stilted language, pretending to be a Christian, yet afraid to use her real name of give any information about herself. (I'm assuming it's a her in that Hepziba is a woman's name.) It is very obvious to me that this person has something to hide. (Just like Swaggert and Bakker did?)

I picked up a book called The Five Gosples written by the Jesus Seminar who appear to be very qualified religious scholars from all denominations. One of the first things that I noticed is that most of what Jesus supposedly said, he probably didn't say at all! Someone just paraphrased it or wrote their own words in. And that most of what Jesus said wasn't written down until YEARS later. Ever play the game where you pass a word around a large circle of people?

And you're basing life styles on this.. Good luck. I think that rather than pie in the sky. The pie that's here is wonderful. Enjoy it.

Have a good weekend.

:o)
