I understand some of the origin of the idea. I just don't really totally agree with it.

The "mixed your labor with" provides a good justification for transferring something from the commons to having it considered personal property, but I don't think that all property requires such a "mix". If there is an established chain of ownership that already exist and you buy it, then its just as much yours IMO. That's partially covered by "that all changes once we have currency", but buying it can be bartering for it, it doesn't require currency.
